Athletics
The Catawba Valley CC Buccaneers participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) a the Division II level in Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball. The Buccaneers reentered the NJCAA with Men’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball during the 2004-05 academic year. In 2009-10 academic year Baseball and Women’s Basketball were added to the athletic program.
The Catawba Valley CC Athletic Department is headed by Jeff Moore, Athletic Director. Student-athletes who participate in the athletic program must satisfy the same admissions criteria and academic retention policies as outlined for all students. Student-athletes must also satisfy the eligibility requirements of the NJCAA to participate in the Catawba Valley CC athletic program. Volleyball: Tarheel Conference 2006, 2007, 2008; Carolinas-Virginia Conference 2009, 2012; NJCAA Region X, D-III 2006, 2007, 2008; NJCAA D-III District 2006, 2007, 2008; NJCAA Region X, D-II 2009, 2012; NJCAA D-II District 2009, 2012; National Tournament Appearance 2006 (8th place finish), 2007 (8th place finish), 2008 (8th place finish), 2009 (16th place finish), 2012 (11th place finish)
