Veterans Day Flier

Veterans will be honored before the men’s basketball game.
CVCC Athletics is proud to host the Second Annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Tarlton Complex on the CVCC main Campus. All area high school JROTC Honor Guards have been invited to present colors for the National Anthem to the men’s basketball game.
Each veteran in attendance will be recognized and presented with a certificate of appreciation for their service to our country and their sacrifice in protecting our freedoms. If you wish to attend the game and be recognized, e-mail your name and branch of military service to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may honor you on this special day.
The lady Buccaneers had an impressive offensive display beating the visiting Milligan College JV Buffaloes 92-47. The Bucs controlled the whole game from the tip off in which they scored on a quick layup to start the game by Nika Jones. Nika Jones continued the offensive display by racking up 20 first half points 18 of which were layups. In the first 10 minutes of the game the Bucs outscored the Buffaloes 25-7. The Bucs finished the first half with a 48-23 point lead.
The Buccaneers controlled the tempo in the second half, but still were able to post 44 points in the second half while holding the Buffaloes to 24. Nika Jones led all scores with 24 points while Kadesha Gibbs posted 13 and Matrice Sweezy added 11 more. Every Buccaneer who played posted at least 2 points in the win, while CVCC bench players outscored the Buffaloes Bench 35-5. The Bucs dominated the paint putting up 62 points in the paint. Kadesha Gibbs led all players with 7 rebounds while Matrice Sweezy added 6 assists. The buccaneers forced 30 turnovers from the visiting Buffaloes while only turning the ball over 10 times.
The Buccaneers are now 2-0 on the season and will play their next game at home on Friday, November 9th at 5:00 pm against Clinton Junior College.
