The CVCC Buccaneers Women’s Basketball team took a 71-58 win over the visiting Clinton Junior College Lady Bears. The Bucs were lead by Nika Jones with 22 points. Samiya Pitts and Kadesha Gibbs both scored in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively. Gabrielle McClain came off the bench to boast the offense with 15 points.

The Bucs played a close first half with it coming to a close with a Lady Bears lead of 34-32 but the Bucs battled back in the second half with a 23-7 run in the first ten minutes. From their the Bucs never looked back. The Bucs were able to steal the ball 20 times with Samiya Pitts grabbing 7.

The Buccaneers Women’s Basketball team is now 3-0 on the season. They will return to action as the first game of a double header with the Men’s team on Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 5:00pm, with the Men’s game starting at 7:00pm. This will also be the Veterans Celebration, were all Veterans in the area are invited to be recognized in between games.
