Bucs Baseball Announces 3 Early Signees
CVCC Buccaneers Baseball team is proud to announce that 1B/3B redshirt freshman Ryan W. Karl (Montville, NJ / Montville Township HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent with Cornell University Big Red Baseball Team.
Karl selected Cornell because of the education of an Ivy League School first and foremost, but is also excited about the success of the Cornell baseball team which won the Ivy League Championship last year. Karl thanks Coach Pait and Coach Coffey for their help in making him a better ball player and attributes the blue collar work ethic that his teammates instill on the field and in the weight room as making him better every day.
Even though Karl is excited about his opportunities next year at Cornell he is still excited about this upcoming season. Karl says:
“We have been working to not only return to Oklahoma but to win a national championship. We are embracing this expectation, and we are not shying away from it. This goal motivates us, and we push each other to get a little better each day. Obviously, this is a process, and we must win our conference and region before that is possible. But this team has a great deal of talent, and as long as we keep grinding and play good baseball in the spring then there is no doubt in my mind this team will do special things.”
CVCC Buccaneers Baseball team is proud to announce that right handed pitcher, sophomore Robert H. Whaley (Hickory, NC / Hickory HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent with Appalachian State Mountaineers Baseball Team.
Whaley selected App State because of the new coaching staff and the success of the team, he also is excited to play Division I baseball so close to home. He will miss all of his teammates on CVCC, but thanks all of them in his development as a pitcher and thanks Coach Pait into making him a bigger and stronger player. He attributes his development as a pitcher into the throwing program Coach Pait has implemented at CVCC.
When asked about his goals for his upcoming season he only said two words, “National Championships.”
CVCC Buccaneers Baseball team is proud to announce that left handed pitcher, redshirt freshman Kevin R. Weissheier (Valley Stream, NY/Chaminade HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Hofstra University Pride Baseball Team.
Weissheier is excited to head back home to Long Island to play next year, he is especially excited for an opportunity to play with his younger brother on the Pride team. He is thankful for the player Coach Pait has made him by making him physically and mentally stronger. He will miss his teammates next year but right now is ready for the upcoming season to start. Weissheier says, “My goal this year, as is the rest of my teammate’s, is to get back to Oklahoma and continue the great tradition this program has had for the past three years. I also want to set an example as a person off the field and in the classroom so others that come to this program have something to aspire to. Anything less is unacceptable.”
