The Buccaneers Women’s Basketball team took down visiting Division I opponent Spartanburg Methodist with an impressive 96-55 final score. The Bucs came out on fire lead by freshman Anika Jones who rained down 36 points for a career high night. Jones also lead the team with 7 rebounds and added 5 steals to the effort. freshman Jillyan Murray added 19 while sophomore Matrice Sweezy added 12. Freshman Kadesha Gibbs gained 6 rebounds while Sweezy helped dishing the ball with 5 assists.

The Bucs came out on a mission grabbing a 32-13 lead in just the first ten minutes and coming in with a first half score of 52-23. Coming out in the second half the Bucs stingy defense did not leat up on the visiitng Pioneers limiting them to only 32 second half points while the Bucs potent offense dropped 44.

The Bucs will play at home tomorrow, Sat 12/1 as part of a double header with the men’s team. The Men will play at 2:00 against Wytheville CC Wildcats, while the women will play in their first conference game at 4:00pm against the Wake Tech Eagles.
