The women’s basketball team had a marathon of games from Friday November 30th – Monday December 3 where they played 4 games in 4 days, which saw the Buccaneers come away victorious in all 4. In the four games the Buccaneers outscored their opponents 326 to 187.

The women dominated the visiting Pioneers of Spartanburg Methodist on Friday night running away with the game 96-55. On Saturday the women returned home to take on Wake Tech Eagles for their first conference game. The women rolled to another win beating the visiting Eagles 69-57. Anika Jones lead all scorers with 21 points while Kadeshia Gibbs posted a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Buccaneers went on the road to play their next two games. Sunday saw them take another win from the Mt. Olive JV team. The Buccaneers controlled the game leading 40-24 at half which lead them to a 80-43 win. The scores were lead by Anika Jones with 18, while Gabrielle McClain added 15 points and 5 rebounds. Matrice Sweezy dished out 14 assists in the game.

The Buccaneers played their final game of the 4 day marathon at Milligan College against their JV team. The Bucs cruised to another winning 81-32. Anika Jones, Kadeshia Gibbs, and Gabrielle McClain posted 14 points in the winning effort while Gibbs added 12 rebounds to have a 2nd double double in the last 3 games.

The Bucs are off to their best start ever sitting at 11-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Bucs will play their next game on the road at Clinton JC a team they had previously beaten at home 71-58. The Bucs will not return home to play until the new year facing Rockingham CC on January 10th.
