The Buccaneers Men’s Basketball team in cooperation with Chik-fil-a helped pack over 5,000 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The team showed up in the evening of November 15th to help pack shoe boxes for over 5 hours to send to children in third world countries so they could receive gifts on Christmas. Assistant Coach Michael Woody said, “It was very eye opening to the men on the team. To access people on a worldly level gave them great appreciation for what they have here. Working with Operation Christmas Child was an awesome experience to expose the community to the great young men of our basketball team off the court.”

This is the second event done in conjunction with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child. Earlier in the year the Volleyball team hosted an Operation Christmas Child night where gate entry was a donation to purchase boxes for children. “We are excited to be involved in the local and worldly community here at CVCC,” says Assistant Athletic Director Nick Schroeder. “We have so many selfless young men and women who want to help, and this was one way we were able to serve.”
