The Buccaneers Women’s Basketball team has broken into the NJCAA Div II poll for the first time at the #20 spot. The Bucs have recorded their best start in program history starting 11-0. The Bucs are lead by a potent offense ranking 3rd in the nation with 875 points and 6th in the nation by averaging 79.5 points per game. The Bucs are also ranked 9th in the nation averaging 17 steals a game.

The Bucs are lead by Freshman Anika Jones who is ranked 20th with an 18.9 points per game average. She is also currently ranked 3rd overall with 204 points, and 7th with 39 steals. Freshman Kadesha Gibbs is ranked 35th with 82 rebounds.

The Bucs have had a successful season so far beating Div I powers in Spartanburg Methodist, and Clinton JC.The Bucs are also the third team in the conference to be ranked with Louisburg College and Patrick Henry CC being ranked 3 and 4 respectively. Guilford Tech is also receiving votes in the polls.

The Bucs will play their next game tonight against Division I opponent Clinton JC who is on a 3 game winning streak. The Bucs will not return home until the new year facing Rockingham CC on January 10th at 5:00pm.
