The #20 ranked Women’s basketball team provided another winning weekend for the Buccaneers as they took two away games outscoring their opponents 163-88.

Friday night the team went on the road to Division I opponent Clinton JC where they were able to roll with a 80-56 win. Freshman Gabrielle McClain led the Bucs with a game-high 20 points, Freshman Anika Jones and Kadeshia Gibbs added 17 and 14 respectively. Sophomore Matrice Sweezy added 14 and Freshman Jillyan Murray added 10 as well to the winning effort, to round out the double scoring Buc players. The game was closely knoted at 40-34 going into the half but the stingy defense only allowed Clinton JC with 18 second half points while the Bucs were able to drop 40 more.

Saturday night the team traveled to Tri-County CC and ran away with another win by dominating the game. The Bucs led 42-16 and Tri-County was never able to close the gap only scoring 16 more points in the second half while the Bucs poured in 41 more points. The Bucs were lead by the Freshman Anika Jones with 18, Kadeshia Gibbs with 12, and Lativa Lee with 11. Sophomore Matrice Sweezy added 10 more to the runaway end. Jones added 6 steal to the effort while Sweezy dished out 9 assists.

The Bucs will play their last game of 2012 this Friday, December 14 at Thomasville Prep before taking a break and starting up the second half of the season on the road against Spartanburg Methodist January 8, 2013.
