Men’s Basketball Falls to #1 Louisburg College
In a hard fought battle the Buccaneers fell to the visiting Hurricanes from Louisburg College 86-60 in the conference home opener for the Bucs. The Bucs were led by Sophomore Anthony Hilliard who scored 17 points 4 steals and 3 assists. Freshman Josh McClain added 14 of his own going 6-6 from the free throw line. Sophomore Preston Earle also scored in double digits with 10.
The Bucs played an aggressive defense to start the game and only trailed by 6 points going into the half 25-31. They kept the score close in the start of the second quarter but a few unfortunate turnovers from the Bucs allowed the Hurricanes to separate themselves and increase the lead. Eventually the Hurricanes proved to much for the Bucs in the second half.
This was the first conference game for the Bucs who are now 10-5 overall and 0-1 in conference. The Bucs next game will be at home this Saturday, Jan 12 at 3:00pm against conference foe Pitt Commodity College.
