A tight game was decided in the ninth inning as the Buccaneers Baseball team fell to Wake Tech 7-6 on Sunday at Hickory, NC.

Ryan Karl got on base three times in the game for the Bucs. He doubled in the seventh inning.

Andrew Shultz got the win for Wake Tech. He allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings. Shultz struck out two, walked three and gave up two hits.

Wake Tech closer #14 put away the final 11 outs to record the save.

The top of the second saw Wake Tech take an early lead, 3-0. Tyler Lapp singled to ignite Wake Tech’s offense. An error then moved Lapp from first to second. Wake Tech then tacked on more runs when Hicks and Duggan scored on a two-run double by Josh Skidmore.

Wake Tech scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the ninth. In the fifth, Wake Tech scored on an RBI single by Matt Duggan, bringing home Lapp.
