The Buccaneers baseball team welcomed the #9 team in Division I baseball Walters State Community College Senators to American Legion field for a mid week double header. The Bucs lost the first game 5-6 but were able to gain the split in claiming the second game 3-2 in 10 innings.

The Bucs lost game one in a hotly contested 5-6 game in seven innings after surrendering the lead in the sixth inning. The Bucs jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The threat began with a single by Blake Myers. A single by Zechariah Wiggs then moved Myers from first to second. Kurt Stabasefski singled, bringing home Myers. The Bucs tacked on more runs when Wiggs scored on a wild pitch, Mayberry scored on a passed ball, Stabasefski scored on an RBI double by Bryson Bowman, and Bowman scored on an RBI double by Ryan Smith. Walters State went up for good in the sixth, scoring one run on an RBI double.

In game 2 Bryson Bowman’s walk-off error off boosted the Bucs to a 3-2 win over Walters State in 10 innings. Bowman went 1-5 and drove in one. He singled in the eighth inning. Dallas Conner got the win for the Bucs. He pitched three shutout innings. Conner struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.

The offense was sparked by Zechariah Wiggs and Stefan Susi, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
In the bottom of the second, the Bucs grabbed the early lead, 2-0. The rally started when Wiggs singled. A groundout by Ryan Karl then moved Wiggs from second to third. Susi singled, bringing home Wiggs and Loren King.
