The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers lost 6-3 at Morehead City on Sunday, despite outhitting Brunswick CC 10 to six.

The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers’ Ryan Smith was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Blake Mosteller had an impressive outing against Brunswick CC’s lineup. Brunswick CC managed just two hits off of Mosteller, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

J Boyd got the win for Brunswick CC. He allowed three runs over seven innings. J Boyd struck out four, walked four and gave up nine hits.

The bottom of the first saw the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers take an early lead, 2-0. The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers attack began with a single from Kurt Stabasefski. A groundout by Ryan Mayberry then moved Stabasefski from first to second. Bryson Bowman singled, scoring Stabasefski. The game’s last lead went to Brunswick CC thanks to a second inning rally that saw five runs cross the plate on two singles and two bases loaded walks.
