The Buccaneers Baseball team finished with a loss to Lenoir CC Monday night in the Region X Tournament Game. The loss has the Bucs finish 3rd in the Region X tournament and finish the season with a 38-13 record, a #10 ranking and the Carolinas-Virgnia Conference Championship.

Bryson Bowman went 2-4, but the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers still fell to Lenoir CC 8-5 on Monday at Morehead City.

Bowman reached base three times in the game for the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Seth Weekly handled Lenoir CC’s lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. Weekly allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over five innings.

Grant Cain recorded the win for Lenoir CC even though he allowed five runs over six innings. Cain struck out three, walked five and gave up seven hits.

The bottom of the first saw the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers take an early lead, 2-0. A single by William Little, bringing home Kurt Stabasefski started the inning off. The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers added more runs when Mayberry scored on an RBI single by Derek Deaton.

The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers scored one run of their own in the fourth. The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers scored on a sacrifice fly by Blaine Lewis.

Lenoir CC never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring five runs on an error, a fielder’s choice, and three singles.

The Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the fifth, the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers scored on an RBI single by Zechariah Wiggs, scoring Bowman.

An RBI single by Christian Faust sparked the Catawba Valley Community College Buccaneers’ rally. Finally, Mason Warren induced an inning-ending fly out from Lewis.
