The Catawba Valley Lady Bucs traveled to Surry Community Collge on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 for a 6:00 match. The Bucs won the match in 4 sets 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, and 25-22. Catawba Valley fell behind early in the first set and the Surry Knights took advantage of the Bucs 5 missed serves. CVCC battled back in the second set and never looked back. Leading the offensive for the Bucs was outside hitters Aimee Cloninger and Leah Wells who had 17 and 16 kills respectively. Megan Gouge added 13 kills and Madison Pogue had 10. Katie Ruff contributed 2 aces for the match. Hannah Lewis had a record high 48 digs for the match, Aimee Cloninger and Leah Wells had 13 digs each and Madison Pogue and Katie Ruff added 7 each. Madison Pogue beat her personal and season record with 52 assists for the match. Tiffany Brooks led the blocking team with 3 total blocks and Anna Henderson contributed 2.

The Bucs are away on Thursday September 12, 2013 for a tri-match at Guilford Tech with Brunswick Community College. On Friday and Saturday September 13 and 14, CVCC will compete in a tournament at the College of Southern Maryland. The Lady Bucs will return home on September 17 for a 6:00 match against Montreat JV, when they will recognize the faculty of CVCC.
