The Catawba Valley Lady Bucs traveled to Guilford Tech Community College on Thursday September 12, 2013 for a tri-match with Guilford Tech and Brunswick Community College.

The Bucs won the first match in 3 sets against the Guilford Tech Titans 25-9, 25-12, 25-9. The Bucs had 37 kills for the match with Anna Henderson leading the way with 10 kills. Aimee Cloninger added 9 kills, Leah Wells had 7, and Madison Pogue posted 5 kills for the match. The serving game was strong for the Lady Buccaneers with Aimee Cloninger posting 6 aces, Madison Pogue acing 4, Katie Ruff adding 2 and Hannah Lewis and Lyndsey Detter contributing 1 each. Hannah Lewis led the defensive game with 12 digs, Leah Wells had 10 and Aimee Cloninger added 9. Madison Pogue posted 22 assists for the set and Megan Gouge led the blocking game with 1.5 total blocks. Aimee Cloninger and Anna Henderson added 1 block each.

In their second match of the night, Catawba Valley took on the Lady Dolphins of Brunswick Community College. The Bucs came out on top with scores of 25-10, 25-20, and 25-13. Aimee Cloninger led in the kill category with 11 kills. Megan Gouge posted 6 kills, Madison Pogue had 5, and Anna Henderson and Leah Wells had 4 each. Leading the defensive game for the Lady Bucs was Leah Wells with 13 digs. Madison Pogue had 12 digs, Hannah Lewis has 10 digs and Katie Ruff contributed 7 digs for the match. Madison Pogue had 15 assists for the match, Hannah Lewis had 4 and Lyndsey Detter added 3. Aggressive serving was key and Madison Pogue and Katie Ruff dominated the category with 4 aces each for the match, and Hannah Lewis contributed 3. Anna Henderson led in blocks with 1.5 and Aimee Cloninger posted 1 block as well.

The Bucs are away on on Friday and Saturday September 13 and 14 to compete in a tournament at the College of Southern Maryland. The Lady Bucs will return home on Tuesday September 17, 2013 for a Faculty night special event when they host Montreat JV at 6:00.

The Bucs overall record is 10-0 and their conference record is 4-0.
