The Lady Bucs of Catawba Valley hosted the Montreat College JV Cavaliers for a 6:00 match on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. The Lady Bucs also welcomed in the CVCC Faculty and Staff for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. A signed volleyball was given out in a drawing to Tim Peeler in the Learning Assistance Center. They would like to thank all Faculty and Staff in attendance to the game.

CVCC started off sluggish, but picked it up and won three straight sets, 25-19, 25-13, and 25-10. Leading in the kill category for the Lady Bucs was Aimee Cloninger with 14 for the match. Setter Madison Pogue posted 12 kills followed by Leah Wells with 6 and Megan Gouge with 5. Pogue also led the assist category with 23 for the match and had 3 service aces as well, to add to Leah Well’s season high 4 aces. Hannah Lewis dominated the defensive game with 23 digs for the night. Anna Henderson controlled the net with 2.5 blocks and Megan Gouge and Tiffany Brooks added a block each.

CVCC travels to Raleigh for a tri-match on Friday, September 20th at Wake Tech Community College with Louisburg College beginning at 3:00. The Bucs play Pitt Community College on Saturday at 10:00 at Pitt before returning home to host Toccoa Falls at 6:00 on Tuesday, September 24th for a Operation Christmas Child Special event.

The Bucs overall record is 15-0 and their conference record is 4-0.
