Q: How is your team preparing for the upcoming season after winning over 20 games last year in the regular season, for the first time in the last 10 years?
A: It’s a new team but the group that had come in is putting in some hard work. We are lifting, conditioning and doing a lot of fundamental and skill work. We have been going 4 days a week until October 1 to avoid burning the players out. We need them all in great shape, it is a long season.

Q: What are the big games on your schedule in the 2013/14 season?
A: We want to win all the games and approach each game as it is the most important on the schedule. However, Region X games are always the most important. We need to finish in the top half of the league to receive a bid to the Region X championships,

Q: What are some tough stretches of games in your season?
A: The week of November 23, 26 and Dec 4 are three straight road games against very good teams. We don’t know what to expect from Vance Granville this year, but Caldwell CC and Spartanburg Methodist are always very good. Then, on Jan 28, 31 and Feb 1 we have three more straight road games. Playing Lenoir (1/31/14) and Pitt (2/1/14) on back to back days will be a big challenge. The final set of 3 tough road games will be February 15, 16 and 22. We will be playing back to back games again and this will be against two new teams in Virginia who have just joined the conference. The next game will be against Louisburg at Louisburg who is always tough at home.

Q: What are you looking forward to this season?
A: Our team is very young this year, but right now they are very enthusiastic and working very hard. If we can continue to have these two traits I think we will see this team improve every day.

Q: How is your team preparing for the upcoming season after going undefeated last year in the regular season?
A: The group of girls we have coming back as well as the new ones are working hard fundamentally as well as working on to develop their game mentally. After having a great season last year we know that everyone in the league is coming after us so our work ethic has been pushed up a notch every game to compete at a high level.

Q: What are the big games on your schedule in the 2013/14 season?
A: I think all of our games are big. We we take the floor for each game we take no one for granted. The schedule this year is very difficult and we see think this season is going to be very competitive.

Q: What are some tough stretches of games in your season?
A: There are some tough stretches in the whole season but having 6 straight road games to end the season will very difficult. We will have to work hard to stay focused and to prepare ourselves mentally for the Region tournament.

Q: What are you looking forward to in your first season as Head Coach?
A: I am looking forward to allowing God to continue directing our success.
