Hannah Griffin of Hickory Grove Christian School in Charlotte, NC, signed on February 26th to play volleyball this fall at Catawba Valley Community College. Present for the signing was Hickory Grove Head Volleyball Coach Corbin Bray, Hannah’s parents Terry and Kim Griffin, sister Sarah Gregory, brothers Keith and Zach Griffin, CVCC Head Coach Shannon Hudson and CVCC Assistant Coach Mark Wimberley. Also present was HGCS Head Basketball Coach Matthew Trent and Athletic Director Ed Reynolds along with high school teammates, friends and extended family.

In her senior year with the Lady Lions, Hannah posted 222 kills with 3.2 kills per set. She had a .321 hitting percentage. Hannah also contributed 36 aces her senior year for a high school total of 144 aces. In the blocking category Hannah had 55 total blocks her senior year. In addition to Hickory Grove, Hannah played for Carolina Storm under the direction of club coach Ralph Viegelmann.

CVCC Head Coach Shannon Hudson is excited to add Hannah to the Lady Buccaneer’s line-up for the fall 2014 season. “Hannah is a great addition to our line-up. Her 6’ stature is definitely an advantage on the front row and her work ethic and attitude are contagious.”

During her high school career, Hannah was Metrolina Athletic Conference All-Conference Team 2012, 2013 and 2014 for volleyball and in 2014 made the NCISAA (3A) All State Team. Hannah also earned MAC All-Conference honors her junior and senior year for basketball and scored over 1,000 points during her basketball career.
Hannah is planning to pursue a career in Elementary Education.
