He played for Coach Eddie Gray and helped his team to a 26 -1 record. He was an All-Conference player his senior year. He is a point guard who can push the ball up the floor well and use his quickness to play good pressure defense |
 Justin Byrd | #3 Justin Byrd Height: 5’9” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Ashebrook HS Hometown: Gastonia, NC Major: General Education Justin played for Coach Chad Duncan at Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, NC. He was an All Conference player his senior year and was named the team’s offensive player of the year. He helped his team to an 18-6 record. He can play the point guard position as well as the wing position. |
 Jalen Cannady | #5 Jalen Cannady Height: 6’6” Position: Post Year: Freshman High School: Concord High Hometown: Concord, NC Major: Criminal Justice Jalen played for Coach Scott Brewer at Concord High School in Concord NC. He guided his team to a 23-7 record and the state championship in 2010. He was named All-Conference his senior year. Jalen will be looked to for post scoring and defense for CVCC. |
 Samuel Starks | #10 Sam Starks Height: 5’10” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: North Rowan Hometown: Salisbury, NC Major: Criminal Justice Sam comes to CVCC after a standout high school career at North Rowan High School. He played for Coach Andrew Mitchell. During his senior year, Sam helped North Rowan win the North Carolina High School State Championship with a 27-2 record. He was named MVP of the State Tournament as well as being named All County and All-Conference. Sam is a guard who will add some scoring punch to the CVCC line up. |
 Anthony Hiliard | #12 Anthony Hilliard Height: 5’10” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: South Central Hometown: Greenville, SC Major: Sports Communication Anthony played for Coach Chris Cherry at South Central High School. His team went 26-4 his senior year and Anthony was named to the All-Conference Team and was chosen Regional Most Valuable Player. Anthony is a versatile player who can play the point guard or the wing. |
 Zack Hayes | #14 Zack Hayes Height: 6’0” Position: Guard Year: Sophomore High School: Gaston Christian Hometown: Kings Mountain Major: Business Zack is returning for his sophomore year at CVCC. As a freshman Zack averaged 11points per game, 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Zack was a three time all-conference player in high school at Gaston Christian High School where he played for Coach Kevin Hartley. Zack is a guard and will be looked to for his experience this season. |
 Terrence Polk | #20 Terrence Polk Height: 6’6” Position: Forward/Wing Year: Freshman High School: North Rowan Hometown: Salisbury Major: General Education Terrence was a two time all- conference and one time all-district player in high school. He played for Coach Matt Sides at Anson High School. Terrence will play inside and has the ability to step out to the perimeter. Terrence can score inside and outside and will be a strong rebounder for CVCC this season. |
 Donald Johnson | #22 Donald Johnson Height: 6’0 Position: Guard/Wing Year: Freshman High School: Garner Hometown: Raleigh, NC Major: Communications Donald played for Coach Eddie Gray at Garner High School in Raleigh NC. He led his team to a 26-1 record and earned North Carolina All-State, All-Conference, conference and district player of the year his senior year. Donald is an exceptional offensive player with the athletic ability to be a good defender as well. |
 Preston Earle | #23 Preston Earl Height: 6’3” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Harding Hometown: Charlotte, NC Major: Criminal Justice Preston played at Harding High School in Charlotte for Coach Walter Aikens. He was a All- Conference and All-State Football Player and All- Conference in Basketball. Preston is a very good student who had options to play football or basketball in college. CVCC is glad he chose basketball. He is a strong athletic wing who can guard and score. |
 Justin Lail | #24 Justin Lail Height: 6’2” Position: Guard/Wing Year: Sophomore High School: East Burke Hometown: Hickory, NC Major: Business Justin will be returning for his second season at CVCC. Last season as a freshman he averaged 12 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 2 assists per game. Justin played for Coach Jon Hancock at East Burke High School where he was the team MVP his senior year. The Buccaneers will be looking for Justin to play on the perimeter and help in the post this season. |
 Marquise Johnson | #31 Marquise Johnson Height: 6’0” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Hendersonville Hometown: Hendersonville Major: English/Journalism Marquise was a stand out player at Hendersonville High School for Coach Marvin Featherstone. He was player of the year his senior season and led his team to a 19-7 record. He is a strong player who can guard and score. He is capable of using his strength and athletic ability to be a good rebounder as well. |
 Will White | #32 Will White Height: 6’3” Position: Wing Year: Sophomore Hometown: Goldsboro, NC High School: Eastern Wayne HS Major: Physical Education Will is playing his second season at CVCC. Will averaged 10 points, five rebounds and three assists as a freshman. Will played high school basketball at Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro, NC for Coach Marvin Bowmen. At Eastern Wayne, Will earned first team all-conference honors in both his junior and senior years. White will be a versatile player for CVCC this season playing on the perimeter and inside. |
 Victor Moore | #33 Victor Moore Height: 6’0 Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Harding University High School Hometown: Charlotte Major: Graphic Design Victor played for Coach Walter Aikens at Harding High School. He was not only a stand out player, he was also an exceptional student. Victor gives CVCC a strong guard who can drive and shoot. He will also be expected to be a strong defender. |
 Isaiah Cuthberson | #42 Isaiah Cuthbertson Height: 6’5” Position: Post Year: Freshman High School: West Rowan Hometown: Cleveland, NC Major: Criminal Justice Isaiah played for Coach Mike Gurley at West Rowan High School in Cleveland NC. His team recorded a 21-9 record his senior year and were the sectional champions. He also played on the state football championship team in 2009. Isaiah is a strong post player with good athletic ability who will be counted on for scoring and defending. |
