Head Coach Bryan Garmroth

Bryan Garmroth is in his 22nd year of coaching college basketball, and his eleventh season as a college head coach. During Coach Garmroth’s career he has experience coaching at NCAA Division I, II and Junior College. His broad experience and multiple contacts at all collegiate levels is a major asset for CVCC student-athletes on the court and to those who want to continue their basketball career at a four year school.

Coach Garmroth’s has complied an impressive 162-73 record in his eight seasons as a Head Junior College Coach. His teams have won five Region X championships or co- championships and one team claiming the District X championship and a trip to the NJCAA final 16 in Hutchison Kansas. He has helped 35 student-athletes to receive scholarships to continue their education and playing career at four-year universities. Eleven of his players have played professionally overseas after completing their four year career.

 

Assistant Coach Julian Larry

Coach Julian Larry enters his second season with the CVCC Men’s Basketball Program and his fourth year of coaching Men’s Basketball. During the 2010-11season, Coach Larry was an assistant coach at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND under head coach Ty Orton. During the 2009-10 season, Coach Larry was the head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Richardton High School (ND). Coach Larry holds a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science as well as University Studies from Dickinson State University in North Dakota. Larry played junior college basketball at Lassen Community College from 2001-02 and continued at Weber State University during 2002-03. He finished his playing career as a two year starter at Dickinson State University (ND) from 2005-08.

Assistant Coach Michael Woody

Coach Michael Woody begins his first season with the CVCC Men’s Basketball Program. Coach Woody has been the Head Coach in the Alabama Hawks Athletic Club teaching high school young men individual and team skills since 2007. Woody’s teams qualified for participation in the Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) national tournament held in Orlando, Florida, each of those years, as the YBOA representative for the state of Alabama.

Coach Woody played collegiate basketball for Columbus State University (Columbus, GA), earning a BBA degree in Business Administration and for Alabama Southern Community College (Monroeville, AL), earning an AAS degree in Computer Technology. Coach Woody was Valedictorian of his high school class, earning academic and athletic scholarships for college.

Coach Woody currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and is a decorated combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Coach Woody served as an elected Town Councilman in his community for 18 years prior to coming to CVCC.
