After transferring to CVCC from Cape Fear Community College, Iesha Love knew she had to be motivated to achieve her goal of signing at a four year institution. Coming to CVCC, Love had to take 43 credits to qualify for graduation, the average student takes 30 credits in a year. Completing all of the course and excelling on the basketball court, Love earned a scholarship to continue her career at UNC Pembroke for the next two seasons.
Love averaged 10.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the Red Hawks this past season. "I am so thankful for the opportunity at CVCC and I am excited to graduate with my associates," said Love. "I am thankful for Coach (Tisha England) and my teammates for supporting me and helping me have this opportunity."
When asked about UNC Pembroke, Love said, "I chose UNCP because I liked the atmosphere and the campus. During my workout all the players wer encouraging and supportive and I felt like I had a good chemistry with the team."
