Red Hawks sign North Mecklenburg’s Jordan Jenkins

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball program has announced the signing of North Mecklenburg standout Jordan Jenkins.

"I'm excited to have Jordan Jenkins to be a part of our program," said CVCC head women's basketball coach Tisha England. "She is coming from a good coach and school. She will add versatility and good work ethic to our team. I'm looking forward to her to contribute immediately."

A 5-foot-8 guard, Jenkins averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.4 assists this past winner as a senior at North Mecklenburg High School.

Behind Jenkins, the Vikings won 18 games, including nine in I-Meck 4A conference play. North Meck also made an appearance in the second round of the 4A playoffs.

Jenkins also played two years of varsity basketball at Summerville High School in Summerville, S.C. before transferring to North Meck.

She averaged 9.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals at Summerville, including career highs of 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 steals during her junior season with the Green Wave.

Jenkins joins a Red Hawks women's basketball team that went 24-6 overall last season, including 17-3 in Region 10 games — claiming the school's second-ever regular season conference title.
