Nikkyana McCaskill enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Catawba Valley Community college women's basketball program.

During her first season, McCaskill helped coach a Red Hawks women's basketball team that went 22-2 overall, 14-0 in Region X play and won its third regular-season conference championship. CVCC also ranked inside the top 10 nationally for most of her first season as assistant coach.
A former Red Hawk standout from 2016-18, McCaskill was a part of a CVCC women's basketball program that went 47-14 during those two seasons, including a 34-8 mark in conference games.
During her sophomore season, the Red Hawks went 26-6, including 20-2 in Region 10 games — one of the best seasons in program history. She played in 30 of those 32 contests, starting in 28 of them.
McCaskill finished her CVCC women's basketball career with 59 games played (39 started), and she amassed 595 points (10.1 per game), 195 assists, 70 steals, 135 rebounds and 183 field goals made.
