High School: Kristen is coming to CVCC from Pisgah High School where she played for Coach Brandon Holloway. She helped lead her team to a 26-5 record her Senior year and garnering an All-Conference selection and was named to the Blue/White All-star team.
Personal: Kristen’s parents are Phillip Almond and Angie Green. She has one sister, Samantha.

Major: Medical Sonography
High School: Lauren is coming to CVCC from North Lincoln High School and Coach Lynn Rhyne. Lauren helped her team to a 22-14 record and a perfect 14-0 in conference her Senior year, on route to a Conference Championship in her Junior and Senior years. During her Senior year she received the Coach’s Award and was named the MVP during her Freshman year.
Personal: Lauren’s parents are Jim and Julie Armstrong. She has a sister, Linda and a brother Michael.

High School: Bryanna comes to CVCC from Rye High School where she played for Coach Kyle Spencer and Coach Jeff Bailey. She helped her team to a 22-6 record her Senior season along with claiming the District and Region Championship. She was named to the All-Star team in 2011 and 2012 along with being named an Academic All-State her Senior year.
Personal: Bryanna’s parents are Greg and Patti Berens. She has two siblings brother, Steven and sister Christie.
#43 STEPHANIE CABRAL

Hometown: Fairview, NC
Major: Occupational Therapy
2011/2012: Stephanie played in 26 games last season for the Buccaneers averaging 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds. She had a career high 17 points against Montreat College and a 14 rebounds against Louisburg College. She is one of the leaders on the defensive side of the ball taking 38 charges last season.
High School: Stephanie played both basketball and volleyball at AC Reynolds. She played basketball under Coach Gladys and garnered All-Conference and All-Region awards. Her basketball club team WNC Lady Royals took 4th place in DI Nationals.
Personal: Stephanie’s parents are Allen Cabral and Kristinna Leyras. She has two brothers, Tony and Rudy.

High School: Kadesha comes to CVCC after a successful career at
Newton-Conover High School. She was a three sport athlete and helped her basketball team to a 28-4 record under Coach Ike Williams. During her high school career she was named to the All CVAC Christmas
Tournament Team 3 years, All-Conference team 3 years, All-District 2 years, Western All–Region Team, and 2 time Team MVP. She also was an 1,000 point scorer and had over 1,000 rebounds. She helped her volleyball team to a State Championship her Senior year and was named All-Conference.

High School: Samiya comes to CVCC from Newton-Conover High School where she helped her team to a 25-4 record her Senior year under Coach Tharpe. She was named Outstanding Defensive Player and was also named Athlete of the Year. Samiya also participated on the volleyball and track team.
