Women’s Basketball Staff

Head Coach: Tisha England

Coach England is starting her first year as Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball program. This will mark her fourth year in the program serving as an Assistant Coach in the three previous seasons. Coach England is only the second head coach in program history. Coach England was an integral part in the success of the Buccaneers Basketball program, instilling an unrelenting work ethic and developing team chemistry in her previous years with the program. Former Head Coach Tommy Edwards credits Coach England with the success in the 30-1 record, and Carolinas-Virginia Conference championship in the 2012-13 season.
Coach England is a graduate of Newton Conover High School. During her career there she garnered All-American honors, was Gatorade Player of the Year and was the only athlete to have her jersey (32) retired. She was inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame at Newton Conover high on March 18, 2010. She furthered her education at the University of South Carolina Aiken and graduated with a B.A. in Education. Coach England has taught in public and private schools for over 13 years. During her time at USC-Aiken, England was a two time All-Conference player and the only USC-Aiken player (male or female) to win PBC Player of the Year honors. She holds the school and conference scoring average record at 20 points per game. Her jersey (32) was the third to be retired in USC-Aiken’s history. On November 30, 2007, England was one of thirteen Hall of Fame inductees to make up the inaugural class at USC-Aiken. Coach England was inducted into the Catawba County Sports Hall of Fame on May 13, 2013. Outside of basketball Coach England enjoys learning more about the Lord and spending time with her family.
