Clarke joining Red Hawks volleyball program

HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College volleyball program added its fifth recruit of the 2018 class on Friday.

Emma Clarke officially joined the Red Hawks during a special ceremony held at the Tarlton Complex.

A middle hitter and right side, Clarke spent this past season playing volleyball at First Assembly Christian under head coach Bonnie Hoag.

Behind Clarke, the Wildcats finished their season 14-5 overall and 8-0 in conference games.

"Anna brings tremendous size and reach to our Red Hawks blocking game," said CVCC head volleyball coach Shannon Hudson. "I'm looking forward to the continued development of her offense and appreciate her work ethic and drive to compete."

Clarke plans to study early childhood education will attending CVCC.

Clarke is the fifth member of the 2018 Red Hawk volleyball recruiting class, joining Alexander Central's Kelsea DeJarnette and Chesney Millsaps and West Stokes' Rachel Delcamp and Abigail Gordon.
