 Melinda Morgan | #10 Melinda Morgan Height: 5’10” Position: Guard/Forward Year: Freshman High School: Polk County Hometown: Saluda, NC College Interests: Nursing Melinda Morgan is a graduate of Polk County High School. She saw great success in high school, she was voted Best All-Around, as well as Best Offensive player for her team. She earned the Wolverine Award, and was also voted onto the All-Conference team. Melinda looks to compete for playing time in the post positions this season for the Lady Bucs. |
 Clarissa Hunt | #15 Clarissa Hunt Height: 5’8” Position: Guard Year: Sophomore High School: Shelby Hometown: Shelby, NC College Interests: Forensic Science Hunt is a returning guard for the Lady Bucs. Last season Hunt saw action in all 30 of the Lady Bucs contests last season, and averaged just under 8 points per game. During her time in high school Clarissa was the do it all player for her team; she received the Team Before Self Award, as well as being voted team MVP. In high school she was her team’s leading rebounder. Hunt looks to play a large role in the success of the 2011-2012 Lady Bucs squad. |
 Page Moore | #20 Paige Moore Height: 5’7” Position: Guard Year: Sophomore High School: East Burke Hometown: Icard, NC College Interests: Education Paige Moore is a graduate of East Burke High School where she played for former college standout Katie Gravel. Moore is a returning player for the Lady Bucs. Paige saw action in 29 contests last season and was the team’s leading scorer averaging almost11 points per game. Moore was a two sport standout in high school playing both basketball and volleyball. Moore was her team’s Most Valuable Player, and was twice voted onto the All-Conference team. Moore has great range as well as a great basketball IQ, she looks to play an intricate role in CVCC’s success this season. |
 Matrice Sweezy | #21 Matrice Sweezy Height: 5’5” Position: Point Guard Year: Freshman High School: Shelby Hometown: Shelby College Interests: Sports Management Matrice Sweezy is another standout guard from Shelby High School. While in high school Sweezy did it all on both ends of the floor, she was her teams: Best Defensive Player, assist leader, had the most steals, free-throw percentage leader, and Most Valuable Player. Success was not something limited to only her team though; she was voted All-Conference, All-Tournament, and All-Region. Sweezy, is a player that can do it all, but more importantly she is a basketball player with a very high basketball IQ. She looks to play a vital role in the success of the year’s Lady Bucs team. |
 Brianna Mitchell | #22 Brianna Mitchell Height: 5’6” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Spotswood Hometown: Elkton, VA College Interests: Criminal Justice Brianna Mitchell is a graduate of Spotswood High School in VA. Mitchell had great success as a high school player; she was named team MVP, and was a 1,000 point scorer. Mitchell not only had success at her own high school, but also in the state, as she was voted All-District, All-Region, and All-State. Brianna is looking to compete for playing time at the guard spots for the Lady Bucs. |
 Necole Gentry | #23 Nicole Gentry Height: 5’7” Position: Guard Year: Sophomore High School: North Buncombe Hometown: Weaverville, NC College Interests: Athletic Training Gentry is a returning guard at CVCC with great outside range. Gentry saw action in 28 games last season and averaged 6 points per game. She looks to play an even bigger role on the floor this season; adding great depth to a very strong guard corps for the Lady Bucs. In high school Nicole was voted All-Conference, as well as her team’s Most Valuable Player. |
 Melissa Jetter | #25 Melissa Jeter Height: 5’7” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Phillip O. Berry Hometown: Charlotte, NC College Interests: Undecided Melissa Jeter comes to CVCC from Phillip O. Berry High School in Charlotte, NC. Jeter was on the A/B Honor Roll every year of her high school career. Jeter comes from a high school that saw great success during her Senior year of high school, she is looking to keep the winning tradition alive here at CVCC. Melissa is looking to earn playing time at the guard spot for the Lady Bucs. |
 Vivian Adams | #30 Vivian Adams Height: 5’7” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: North Johnston Hometown: Selma, NC College Interests: Undecided Vivian Adams is a graduate of North Johnston High School. While at Johnston Adams earned most outstanding player for her team as well as earning Most Valuable Player for her team. Adams is looking to break into the very deep and talented guard rotation here at CVCC. |
 Lonniesha White | #31 Lonniesha White Height: 5’11” Position: Forward/Center Year: Freshman High School: Mallard Creek Hometown: Syracuse, NY College Interests: Business Lonniesha White comes to the Lady Bucs from Mallard Creek High School. White comes from a great high school program and looks to add great depth in the post positions. Her length and shot blocking abilities will be a key in the Lady Bucs defense this season. |
 Samiya Pitts | #32 Samiya Pitts Height: 5’2” Position: Guard Year: Freshman High School: Newton-Conover Hometown: Hickory, NC College Interests: Social Work Samiya Pitts is a graduate of Newton-Conover High School. She is no stranger to success and winning on the hardwood. She was not only a basketball standout in high school, but also excelled in volleyball and track. Pitts looks to break into the strong guard core for the Lady Bucs, as well as give a great boost on the defensive end of the floor. |
 Shaliah Degree | #33 Shaliah Degree Height: 5’11” Position: Post Year: Sophomore High School: Crest High School Hometown: Shelby, NC College Interest: Biology Degree was an all-conference player out of Crest High School where she was MVP for her team. Shaliah is now returning for her second season at the post position for the Bucs. She has good speed, height and jumping abililty; coupled with aggressive defensive play, Shaliah promises to be a big plus for CVCC. |
 Olivia Sabo | #34 Olivia Sabo Height: 6’0” Position: Guard/Forward Year: Freshman High School: East Rowan Hometown: Rockwell, NC College Interests: Athletic training Olivia Sabo is a graduate of East Rowan High School. She is a natural leader on the floor as well as a very hard worker. In high school Sabo earned the Team Before Self Award, Leadership Award, as well as her team’s Most Valuable Player. Sabo looks to make an immediate impact for the Lady Bucs in the post. |
 Stephanie Cabral | #43 Stephanie Cabral Height: 5’10” Position: Guard/Forward Year: Freshman High School: A.C. Reynolds Hometown: Fairview, NC College Interests: Education Stephanie Cabral is a 2011 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School. Stephanie was a two sport athlete in high school, playing basketball and also volleyball. Cabral excelled in both sports, but chose to continue her basketball career here at CVCC. During her high school career Stephanie garnered All-Conference honors as well as All-District honors. Stephanie is going to play forward for us here at CVCC. |
 Kiyosha England | #52 Kiyosha England Height: 5’8” Position: Center Year: Sophomore High School: Maiden Hometown: Maiden, NC College Interests: Architect Technology Kiyosha is a graduate of Maiden High School. Kiyosha brings a good deal of basketball experience to CVCC. While in high school England was twice voted an All-Conference selection. She was on the All-Tournament team, as well as being her team’s Most Valuable Player. Kiyosha is looking to give us depth in the post this season here at CVCC. |
