Coach Edwards started the CVCC women’s basketball program in 2009. He now begins his third season as head coach of the CVCC Lady Bucs basketball team. With a cumulative record of 34 wins and 19 losses, he now takes aim at what looks like will be his third consecutive winning season. Tommy began his coaching career in 1973 at the junior high level and coached the varsity girls at Bunker Hill High School for 23 seasons (418 wins/199 losses). He was named Conference Coach of the Year six times and has a career record of 581-296. Tommy and his wife, Pam, live in Conover. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Assistant Coach Kristin Kidd

Coach Kidd is a 2011 graduate of Concord University is entering her first season at CVCC.  Kidd played her AAU basketball out of Statesville, NC and enjoyed a successful career where she garnered AAU All-American honors.  Kidd played high school basketball for head coach Jeff Parham at South Caldwell High School and graduated in 2006.  She started and played varsity basketball since she was in the 7^th grade.  She played 5 years of college basketball, both at the D-I and D-II levels.  She was selected to attend the 2011 WBCA “So You Want to be a Coach” program held in conjunction with the women’s Final Four in Indianapolis.  She is looking forward to this opportunity at being able to try her hand at coaching the game on the college level.  She is a native of North Carolina, and enjoys spending time with her mom, dad and two younger sisters.

Assistant Coach Tisha England

Coach England is in her second season as CVCC Lady Bucs assistant women’s basketball coach. She is a graduate of Newton Conover High School. During her career there she garnered All-American honors, was Gatorade Player of the Year and was the only athlete to have her jersey (32) retired. She was inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame at Newton Conover high on March 18, 2010. She furthered her education at the University of South Carolina Aiken and graduated with a B.A. in Education. Coach England has taught in public and private schools for over 13 years. During her time at USC-Aiken, England was a two time All-Conference player and the only USC-Aiken player (male or female) to win PBC Player of the Year honors. She holds the school and conference scoring average record at 20 points per game. Her jersey (32) was the third to be retired in USC-Aiken’s history. On November 30, 2007, England was one of thirteen Hall of Fame inductees to make up the inaugural class at USC-Aiken. Outside of basketball Coach England enjoys learning more about the Lord and spending time with her family.

Statistician/Video Tech.: Jason Fulbright

Jason is in his third year on the CVCC women’s basketball staff after spending time on Coach Edwards’s staff at Bunker Hill High School as a video and statistician. He will serve as the team’s video coordinator and assistant statistician. Fulbright is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Business Administration. He also attended CVCC and graduated with a degree in Accounting. In addition to his duties at CVCC, Jason is a USATF Level 1 Track coach and is currently a volunteer assistant Track coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
