HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball team closed out the home portion of its 2025-26 regular season by rallying to a 71–66 conference win against Richard Bland on Wednesday night at the Tarlton Complex.
Jordyn Adams led the Red Hawks with 18 points and four assists, and she was also 6-for-6 at the free‑throw line. Duraejah Hardin added 14 points off the bench for CVCC, and Zakyiah Miller posted a double double with 212 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite trailing by nine points after the first quarter, Catawba Valley trimmed its halftime deficit to four points, and by the end of the third, the Red Hawks were within three points, 56-53.
CVCC bunkered down on defense in the fourth quarter, holding Richard Bland to just 10 points, on its way to the thrilling five-point Region 10 win.
Catawba Valley outrebounded Richard Bland 44–35 and shot 93 percent from the free throw line — both which played pivotal roles in helping the Red Hawks in their victory.
The Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball team returns to action on Friday where they will once again face Richard Bland — this time in Petersburg, Va. Tip off between the Red Hawks and Statesmen is set for 1 p.m.
