Despite putting up a team hitting percentage of .188, the Catawba Valley Community College volleyball team fell at the hands of Queens University — 29-27, 25-14 and 25-15.
The Royals used ball control and attacking ability to survive in extra points during the first set, and Queens' serving and stellar defense held the Red Hawks at bay in the three-set match.
The CVCC volleyball team returns to aciton when it hosts a home tournament on Saturday, April 6 starting at 9 a.m. The tournament features Belmont Abbey, Lenoir-Rhyne, UNC Pembroke, Guilford and Catawba College.
