Adair Melton enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Catawba Valley Community College women's volleyball program.

A former Red Hawk standout as an outside hitter, Melton played in 37 matches during her lone season at CVCC in 2017-18, tallying 289 kills (2.31 per set), 191 assists, 243 digs and 68 blocks. She was a part of a Red Hawks team that went 28-9 overall and 15-0 in Region 10 play during the 2017-18 season.

Melton went on to finish her collegiate volleyball career at Meredith College, playing in 18 matches for the Angels. She recorded 43 digs, 21 digs and seven blocks during her career at Meredith, helping the program earn an NCAA berth and USA South Conference tournament championship during her sophomore season.

Also helping the program win a co-championship in the USA South East Division in 2018, Melton was named USA South All-Academic that season.

Melton originally signed to play volleyball at Catawba Valley Community College on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

During her prep career at Fred T. Foard High School, Melton averaged 11 assists and one ace per match during the fall of 2016. She contributed three kills per set offensively for the Tigers and two digs and two blocks per set defensively during the 2016 season. She also played club volleyball for Team Life Volleyball Club in Hickory, N.C. for coach Pat Morgante

She is the daughter of Jeff and Brice Melton, who is currently the Chief Academic Officer at CVCC.
