The Red Hawk Bass Fishing team will host the North Carolina B.A.S.S. College State Qualifier, Friday, June 20, on Lake James in Nebo, N.C. 

This is the first event for Catawba Valley in the 2025-2026 season.  The Red Hawks completed another successful season, finishing in the top 20 for the fifth year in a row.  By finishing 18th in the nation, they were the highest ranked college in N.C. and the second highest ranked 2-year school in the nation. 

"Any time that you are in the top 20 at the end of the year, your team has done something right," stated Head Coach Angela Mayo.  "I am proud of every member of the Red Hawk Bass Fishing team for their hard work and dedication all year long."

The N.C. B.A.S.S. College State Qualifier will go out of the Canal Bridge Boat Ramp in Nebo, N.C., at 6:00 am.  Anglers will fish until 2:00 pm and return for the weigh-in at the Canal Bridge Boat Ramp.  The top finishing team will qualify for the B.A.S.S. College National Championship held on Cherokee Lake in Jefferson City, Tennessee, on July 10-12, 2025.
